Committee Reports:

Land Issues – West Side – Art Waugh

No word on Santiam Pass.  R & P revision movement soon on the west side.  Joh Day Basin coming up for revision March 20 (6:00 to 9:00).  Five Series of meetings.  The 23rd of Bend is a meeting (Art will attend).

Land Issues – East Side – Tom:

RAC meeting – two RACS in area.  Umatilla area kind of dragging their feet but will come around.  Implantation for trails in by 2009.  A couple more years to work.  Forest Service will cover OHV only.  We will be only looking at trails not all roads.  Forest Service will cover 2 ˝ miles per square mile is what they will be looking at.  Forest Service has set dates to meet.  BLM has no set dates.  BLM offers a lot more time.  Papers re: overview of Forest Service update.

SAND DUNES:   New allocation for fossil area.  The meeting was held onsite.  The line is right across the sand dune and blocks the large dune.  The final plan with line angled across w/ access to large dune.  We gave a suggested plan and four alternatives.  We are still discussing plan.

Alan: SW Side:  Met with BLM.  Given two areas to start with.  BLM pushing for OHV area.  Would like to apply for ATV funds for an OHV area a few miles out of town.

South River Area – South of Winston in Myrtle area.  Had permission to run an area there.  A great area.  Verbal contact made with Forest Service.  Level I maintained roads.  An OHV area close to Roseburg a great idea.

Medford BLM district:  Large western area ran trails there also.  Christmas search for Search & Rescue.  Found great rails in Lane County area.

Randy:  East Side:  21 miles of designated Class II trails in middle of snowmobile country.  They will posted and signed in July.  Ground Hog week in June.  Flyers will be handed out.  Website noted on bottom of flyers being sent out.  There is a map on back of flyers.  Hopefully by the end of 2006 there will be 100 miles of trails.  Please be present on the 11th of June to make an impact statement.

Land issues – Oregon Coast – Venessa Johnston:  Venessa was not present.

Membership – Beth Ayers:  Not present.

Ways & Means:  Gaileen Paulson, Umpqua Valley Timber Cruisers, showed the items that she had for sale.

PR Chairperson:  E-mail Dale Keefer at DH Keefer @ Charter.net.  Any format will be posted.  There will be a page on Creek & Trail.  Randy would like a want ads section for the website.  We need more membership information.

Future Four Wheelers:  Adeena Klein, Four Runners will be taking over this position.  This will be at a club level.

We Did It/ Club Power:  Dale Keefer will take over this position.  He will scan paperwork into the computer.  It was stated that we need more clubs within our Region.  We are striving to get a possible Medford area club.  We need to push for this.   We need to possibly look for someone else for membership.

Old Business:

Winter Convention 2006:  Verbal thank you’s and written thank you’s were given.

Creek & Trail:  Venessa will not be doing the kids events for Creek & Trail.  The raffle committee is taken care of.  We would like a tent for raffle prizes when it rains.  Can we purchase one?  22 applications were sent out to Washington.  We can park the vehicles at the store this year and they will watch over them for vandalism.  Pat will contact the former owners of the restaurant at the Airport to cook breakfast for us on Saturday morning.  All underneath of vehicles will need to be washed due to root rot.  Meal tickets will be given out on Friday, no more mailings.  The poker run was a big confusion last year.  They will sell poker hands on Saturday only.  We aren’t sure of security yet.  The cook crew will go in first on Saturday (Umpqua).  There will be thank you cards this year for every raffle donation.

Scholarship Guidelines:  The new PNW guidelines are that the age limit is 25 years and younger and it will be one male and one female.

New Business:

Next Region Meeting:   The meeting will be at Christmas Valley with the Four Runners hosting and doing the potluck and Deschutes doing the poker run on Sunday.

Good of the Order:
